Wood lockers on C33
« on: 26 November, 2014, 09:08:35 »
I am planning on brightening up all of the woodwork inside Hermione and was wondering if anyone has had any luck with using a particular product?
Was thinking of a very light rub down and then oil??

I'll be interested to see the response on this as I would like to do the same on my C31. With regards to oil I think you would need to remove all of the existing finish first for that to work properly. I am thinking a rub down to flatten off everything and then revarnish with something like Epifanes rubbed effect.

To help with the interior one of the first items on the list is to replace/reveneer the table and veneer the chart table. Why on earth did they use that hideous laminate when the rest of the saloon is wood? ???

How about cleaning and polishing the varnish? But remember that it's not high-gloss, if you want that result you must apply a layer of new varnish yourself.

BTW, love the carpet  :D

Yes, varnish would be my favorite as well. Oil might result in fungus during winter.
