Replacing cutlass bearing on Contest 32CS ketch
« on: 04 June, 2012, 22:05:22 »
Hello all,

I have a Contest 32CS ketch. The loose cutlass bearing needs to be replaced.
The boat is currently hauled out. I can't pull the prop shaft out, the skeg is in the way (it is in-line).
The only alternative I can think of, is to lift the engine and push the shaft through.
Has anyone else replaced their cutlass bearing on a similar boat? Can you share your experience?

Thanks,
Phil

Hi Tig and Serena,

You are right: You have to lift the engine.

The last one might be the easiest for you to read.
Great website by the way! I read that you are quite handy with Google translation. Give us a shout when you need more help.

Good luck with the work!
